Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or just not like yourself, therapy can help. You don’t need a diagnosis or a “big enough” problem, just a sense that something isn’t working and you want support.

What issues do you help with?

We support clients with anxiety, trauma, stress, depression, relationship difficulties, individual and couples counselling, and ADHD. This can look like overthinking, burnout, emotional overwhelm, difficulty focusing, or feeling constantly on edge.

Do you offer therapy in Sarnia?

Yes! We offer in-person therapy in Sarnia, Ontario. We are located at 110 Water Street, on the second floor of the building.

Do you offer virtual (online) therapy?

We do. Virtual therapy is a flexible option that allows you to access support from home. Many clients find it just as effective as in-person sessions. We offer virtual therapy to clients across Ontario.

What can I expect in a therapy session?

Therapy is a space where you can talk openly without judgment. We’ll work together to understand what you’re going through, build coping strategies, and process deeper patterns at your pace.

How long does therapy take?

It depends on your goals. Some clients come for short-term support, while others choose longer-term therapy. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy is working for you.

Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?

Yes, we offer evening and weekend availability to make therapy more accessible for busy schedules.

Do I need a referral to start therapy?

No referral is needed. You can book a consultation or first session through this link.

How much does therapy cost?

Session fees vary depending on the therapist and service. Please contact us or visit our booking page for current rates and availability.

Is therapy covered by insurance?

Many extended health benefits plans cover psychotherapy services. We recommend checking with your provider to confirm your specific coverage. LEO Psychotherapy is recognized by SunLife, Manulife, Blue Cross and other insurance providers. We also direct-bill with GreenShield and NIHB.

Do you offer therapy for ADHD?

Yes! We support individuals navigating ADHD, including focus challenges, emotional regulation, burnout and overwhelm. We take a practical, supportive approach that works with your brain—not against it.

How do I choose the right therapist?

Finding the right fit matters. We can help guide you based on what you’re looking for, your goals, and your comfort level. A consultation is a great place to start (and you can book a consult with as many of our therapists as you'd like). It's so important to feel good about the therapist you are working with. Do you offer therapy for teens?

Yes, we support teens and young adults navigating stress, anxiety, school pressures, relationships, and major life transitions. This stage of life can feel overwhelming, and you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Can therapy help with school stress?

Absolutely. We work with students dealing with academic pressure, burnout, procrastination, and anxiety around school. Therapy can help you manage stress, improve focus, and feel more in control.

Can therapy help with friendships and relationships?

Yes. Whether it’s friendships, dating, or family dynamics, therapy can help you navigate conflict, communication, boundaries, and emotional ups and downs.

Do I need my parents permission to start therapy?

For teens under 16, parental or guardian consent is typically required. For older teens and young adults, you may be able to consent on your own. We’re happy to walk you through how this works.

What is therapy like for teens?

Therapy is a relaxed, supportive space where you can talk openly without judgment. It’s not about being told what to do; it’s about understanding yourself and getting support in a way that actually helps.
